In 2022, PENNBOC created a new award to recognize superior leadership contributions by a code official to the organization and to the profession. The award is named after long-time PENNBOC member & leader, John Eby (Region 5).
The Excellence in Leadership Award is presented in recognition of outstanding leadership, visionary guidance, and dedicated service to the Pennsylvania Building Officials Conference.
The inaugural “John Eby Excellence in Leadership Award” recipient was John Eby. John has given tirelessly of himself to increase the effectiveness of the association and has distinguished himself as an exceptional leader amongst the building codes community.
At PENNBOC’s 2022 Annual Membership Meeting on September 21, 2022, in Bethlehem, PA, John was presented an award plaque along with a PENNBOC hockey jersey denoted his “41” years of service.
