2021 IRC Inspector Insights: Mid-career residential inspectors and plans examiners will find this seminar insightful as will designers looking for a review of common construction issues. With a focus on wood construction, the course addresses floor, wall and roof assemblies, common footing and foundation issues, and how to recognize alternate acceptable methods versus problems requiring modification in residential construction. (3 hours)
2021 IRC Deck Construction: This seminar introduces basic design and construction methods for single-story residential wood decks. Vertical and lateral load paths of conventional residential decks are addressed based on the 2021 International Residential Code. Specific design guidance includes span tables for joists and beams, post sizing limitations and connection methods. Additional topics include deck safety features such as guards, stairs, and safety glazing. Electrical, fuel gas and mechanical provisions often encountered near decks will also be discussed. (3 hours)
Continuing Ed: This training session is a total of 6 contact hours and offers 0.6 ICC CEU’s.
