**SIGNED INTO LAW**
Legislation to remove an unnecessary provision in the recently-amended Fireworks Law. Our law requires facilities that are licensed to sell consumer fireworks in PA to comply with the 2006 NFPA standard. Due to a landmark decision by the NFPA Standards Council that made major changes, the most recent 2022 NFPA standard no longer applies to retail sales, storage, or use of consumer fireworks by the general public. As such, this legislation seeks to repeal the requirement from our law, which will also eliminate the Dept of Ag to enforce a standard that is no longer applicable.
