Third-Party Agency Bill Advances to PA Senate
On April 8, 2019, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives approved HB 349 by a vote of 114-84. The legislation seeks to amend the PA Construction Code Act (PCCA) to require that municipalities, which opt to enforce the Uniform Construction Code (UCC) by utilizing third-party agencies, have at least two or more of them under contract for UCC administration. 2018 Accessibility Codes Adoption in PA
On May 16, 2019, Pennsylvania’s Independent Regulatory Review Commission (IRRC) will be reviewing the Final-Omitted regulations that update the UCC by adopting Chapter 11 and Appendix E of the 2018 IBC as well as other accessibilty provisions in the IPC, IEBC, & ISPSC. The PCCA requires the Department of Labor & Industry to adopt, in the year of its issuance, the accessibility provisions of the most recently published edition of the ICC codes and any other accessibility requirements without change.
